Institute for Principle Studies

Description

Founded in 2005, the Institute for Principle Studies (IPS) is a Christian discipleship ministry dedicated to teaching others God’s design for government. IPS plays a pivotal role in reforming society by restoring the institutions of family government, church government and civil government back to their God-ordained roles. IPS fulfills this mission by changing hearts and minds through research, teaching, and training.

The flagship course IPS offers, which is especially useful for homeschool families, is called “Biblical Principles of Government.”

Taught by IPS Founder, Mike Winther, “Biblical Principles of Government” is a comprehensive worldview course exploring the biblical basis for the proper functions and limitations of government.

Contrary to popular opinion, government is not free to do whatever it wishes. As an institution ordained by God, Scripture sets forth the boundaries by which government is authorized to act and for what purposes.

Our job as Christians and citizens is to know these biblically-defined boundaries and then, even more importantly, to hold government officials accountable to these standards. This is the only way to restrain tyranny and unleash liberty — a defining hallmark of Christianity.

This course covers government, history, economics, education, charity, and the proper role in society of the family, the church, and the state. It also covers good and bad decision-making processes and teaches you to identify which is which. This is course is well suited for high school and junior high students. This is also a popular family course that creates many positive family discussions, so we encourage whole families to take it together. Homework is light, but a more thorough and rigorous homework load can be assigned for those seeking school credit.

Thousands of people have gone through this course. You won’t be disappointed. Register today!
